Nad is filled with mountain ranges radiating from the northeast to the west and southwest. The Dogs Kill Mountains run along the northern coast, called Les Monsgeántes and Red Mountains beyond the 2° ring. The Cats Kill Mountains similarly become Les Denières along the southern coast. Both begin at the Point of the Dagger: a peninsula striking into the Inner Sea within sight of Cire. The Green Mountains, Le Massif Central, and Les Montagne des Lions are set between these larger ranges, creating a series of valleys within and beyond the 2° Ring: Turtle Lake, La Grande Vallée, The Lȳtell Vaille, Le Val Ighlaf, Le Val de Hadjer, and La (Vallée) Cache. Two large mountain ranges dominate Næj: the Cabrimonti along the coast of the Mar de Lulas and the Hawk/Eagle Mountains running from southwest to northeast. Between these larger ranges are the Næj Highlands, called the Ober-, Mittel-, and Niedergebirge beyond the 2° Ring. Beyond these mountains to the north and east lay vast steppes, taiga forests, and tundra. Drelfi, Grelfi, and greater and lesser Nephili were the original inhabitants. Mixing Messi and Earnesti languages, Brusi developed in the valley of the die Wühle and Cabramonti and Jacari south of the Goat Mountains. After the Starstone fell and broke up the supercontinent, the lands of Ward were seperated from the lands of Næj by the Morze Wielorybów, from the lands of Cire by the Inner Sea, and the lands of Nad by Al'Abu Sayf. Unlike these other shallow seas, however, the impact of the Starstone did not cause a complete break to the north. Although a deep depression filled with salt water, the Mìfēng Hǎi or Sealed Sea did not wholly separate eastern from central Ward, with land bridges along the 2° Ring and in the far north.
